Long story short we have another new team site.
Earth Agents Super Computer Club.

Yeah, interesting, I've been working on some things myself. I've convinced the more services we can offer to RLSH community, the more people will come. So I've been looking into gregarious, turns out is a plugin for wordpress. And I know how you feel about plugins to sites, Superman!

The thing is zzn.com, has a blog but I don't think they run on wordpress. So I know that digg,com, has an api. However, I don't know if my skills are up to the task.

Another thing to is I dont' think we really don't have a "unit" as the super computer club. In all likely hood it will take some time to recruit the personel necessary for such an operation. Then there is also the training, the group is going to need.

Thought one way I'm trying to get more members is by blogging. I've posted a second blog post. Also I've installed a blog aggregate traffic exchange.

It seems google has taken over feedburner. Basically, what I take it is that is an application to manage blog feeds. One of my other favorite sites is megite, which looks at blogs.

What I think would be really neat would be the use of blog as patrol logs. The blogs could even be made private if needed. Then for example we could track trends.

I'm also hoping we can put this information in with the freewebs.com site I made. It is a work in progress and I'm not really ready to show publicize it yet. Just let a few select people in right now.

Of course one thing I have been thinking about is this could have applications besides the RLSH community. Eventually I see us writing our own applicaitons. Since as one of my professors told me that once you develop the application there might be other applications. There ought to be other applications for this technolgy as well.

As far as sites go it’s kind of like field of dreams. If you build it they will come. Before the whole SCC thing was a kind of hodge podge operation. Now it’s looking decent and will attract more users. A lot of those we recruit will not have the knowledge and skills you and I have at first. It is up to us to lead by example and help by educating them and showing them the ropes to bring them up to speed tech wise. Anyone can learn the technical side of computers given time and a decent instructor. But the desire to help others has to come from within. So that’s the big-ticket item to be looking out for when out recruiting.

What I've been trying to do is promote what we have. One of my friends said he would be willing to be on the storm team. One thing I have been wondering is if we could incorporate Robert's Uncle's into the Supercomputer club.

I haven't forgotten and with a bit of luck you'll soon have another member if the guy I pointed there shows up. He is every bit as much of a tech as you are and into game design etc. I am always out head hunting for all the groups and all the other people in all our groups should be too no matter which group(s) they end up a part of. If we get some folks that want to join up and don’t fit into a group we already have in place. Well we will just have to cobble up another team type group just for them. The growth potential for this is unlimited.

One thing is we may have competition from the guardian angels. Though I would hope it is friendly competition at that. My friend will also help out as time allows. One thing is his job keeps him busy right now. Then he needs to find a job after his one month thing ends. But helps people with computers all the time so I think he would be a good person to help out.

Another thing is if we could use the MIT opencourseware, it would save alot of time writing tutorials.
