Becoming a RLSH ( or whatever you call what we do since "real life superhero" comes from the media ) is a form of higher self-development. This aspect is worth promoting while explaining ourselves to fellow concerned citizens very concerned about this approach. Imagine me a shy kid who had big dreams but no big steam to realize them? I followed this vision and the results are what you're now reading. Following this vision of privately fighting crime and helping people required action and not just day dreams. Action helps undo limitations by introducing them to present and future accomplishments. Higher self-development, as a societal norm, seems likely to reduce crime and increase giving if higher development produces more ethical behavior according to theory. Among those doing what we do is an ongoing debate between "active do gooders " and " active crime fighters " to borrow phrases used in a conversation with Superman of the Sentinels and Earth Agents to describe these broad categories. Yes folks, the guy in the comic books isn't the only one with this name. Both crime fighting and doing good deeds are higher development in action and complement each other. Assisting people in need demonstrates empathy, an evolved expression of emotional intelligence. Stepping outside oneself to address another's pain requires real growth and insight. Such growth and insight builds bridges between persons who otherwise may have had no contact. It can also inspire recipients to help someone themselves. The same holds true for crime fighting. Stopping destructive behavior requires active values and superior commitment. Preserving life and property firsthand means stepping boldly off life's proverbial bleachers and onto the playing field. Risking injury or death are bad enough. Adding possible law suits and arrest if your actions aren't well received makes free lance crime fighting a demonstration of selflessness on par with helping the public another way. What we do challenges mind, body and soul to make a bigger foot print in the world. Reaching within for names and missions that share our best selves are road maps for others to follow in their own way. Everyone obviously doesn't have to be a costumed activist or private crime stopper but everyone has potential awaiting better development. Our way is a creative self-development approach which Z, another colleague, would say is primordial. If humanity broadly includes percentages preying on others and those ( RLSH and equivalents who fight crime ) hunting them provides counter balance. In this role what we're developing is simply our basic God-given function. The world is full of frustrated people. If we do our job right, some of that frustration becomes realization through not only studying our example but becoming examples in their own right.
