(Queens - WABC, March 9, 2007) - Police in Queens are searching for a suspect wanted for two vicious robberies involving elderly women.
On Sunday, police say the suspect attacked a 101-year-old woman in the lobby of 172-90 Highland Avenue in the Jamaica section.
In surveillance video released to Eyewitness News, police say the suspect is seen assaulting the elderly woman, knocking her and a walker to the ground. He then takes the woman's purse, police add.
A half-hour later, police say the suspect followed an 85-year-old woman into an elevator at 92-33 170th Street.
He allegedly got off one floor below, then met up with the woman as she tried to open the door to her apartment. Cops say that's when the suspect assaulted the woman and took her purse.
Police released the following description:
Male
Black
30s
Riding a red or pink bicycle
Wearing a winter jacket with a fur collar around the hood.
